Week 7 Question: What and Should your character have done anything different?
Answer: What my group’ character, Prince Escalus would have done are, Firstly, the Prince could have sentence Romeo to death for killing Tybalt as it’s still a crime. After Romeo’s terrible death, Juliet’s death could be next as she loved Romeo so much that she once said she would do anything for him and said once too that if Romeo’s feelings for her isn’t true, she asked him to leave her to hurt to death. These showed that Juliet would give up her life too if Romeo is dead. Just like what she did in the original story, when she woke up from her long ‘sleep’, she saw Romeo dead beside her and thus, killed herself. At last, it will still be a saddening ending. Secondly, Prince Escalus could have be noted the details of the fight and knew that it wasn’t Romeo’s fault. Thus, didn’t give him any punishment. In this case, Romeo could still be able to be with together with Juliet secretly after the Capulet Family’s anger about Tybalt’s death has subsided then they could announced their wedding and then both families would not be enemies anymore and at last, the town would be at peace.
